    Top spot on the line as Hawkettes host Bullettes

    Reigning premiers Harden face Cootamundra in top-of-the-table clash after Harden's first loss of season.

    In a top-of-the-table clash and replay of the 2023 George Tooke Shield league tag Grand Final, reigning premiers Harden visit the Cootamundra Bullettes in Round 12 at Les Boyd Oval on Saturday.

    The Hawkettes will be out to keep top spot after losing their first game of the season in Round 11, going down 8-6 to the North Canberra Bears.

    In a match that went down to the wire, a successful Maddison Cater penalty conversion was the difference as the Bears kept their season alive with their most significant victory in recent memory.

    Brian Gray is inspiring a new generation of Green Devils

    Brian Gray is a rugby league coach from Crookwell with a successful coaching career in various teams.

    Canberra Region Rugby League

    A name synonymous within rugby league coaching circles is Crookwell's Brian Gray.

    Gray was a Green Devil's junior and played first grade for Crookwell between 1977 and 78 before he moved to Cootamundra in 1979.

    His foray into coaching as a player/coach was with Adelong in 1984 before he moved to Junee in 1986, where he coached a rising star in Laurie Daley and oversaw the team to a Group 9 premiership before moving back to coach Cootamundra in 1988, where he raised another a trophy in the same year.
