    2025 Harold Matthews Cup Open Trials

    Canberra Raiders holding trials for Under 17 Harold Matthews Cup team. Register by September 8th.

    Ahead of the upcoming 2025 NSWRL Junior Representative season, the Canberra Raiders will be holding an 'open trial' for the Under 17 Harold Matthews Cup team.

    The trials will be held on Wednesday, September 18th, 4:00pm at Raiders Belconnen (Hardwick Crescent, Holt, ACT, 2615).

    Players born in 2008 and 2009 are invited to register and trial. Registration closes on Sunday, September 8th.

    Canberra spectator banned for 10 years after rugby league brawl

    Masepa banned 10 years, Crystal 20 weeks for brawl at local rugby league game.

    Masepa Papali'i has been banned for 10 years for her involvement in a brawl at a local rugby league game, while her sister-in-law Crystal Papali'i has been hit with a 20-week ban.

    The Canberra Region Rugby League released the charges on Tuesday, which related to a brawl at a Katrina Fanning Shield game between the West Belconnen Warriors and the Bungendore Kangaroos on July 14.

    Crystal, a Warriors player, has appealed the length of the ban, which was likely to be heard by the CRRL judiciary on Wednesday night.

    After an exciting weekend of the Blumers Lawyers Katrina Fanning Shield, the top four teams are now tied on points, with the fifth-place trailing just two points behind.

    Gungahlin Bulls 30 defeat Queanbeyan Blues 12 

    The Gungahlin Bulls jumped to second spot on the ladder after claiming victory over the Queanbeyan Blues on Saturday at Seiffert Oval. 

    Bulls players Lily Croker, Milikia Tuinakauvadra and Tijana Zdraveska were top performers, all securing doubles.
