    Kangaroos Second Half Blitz seals their Season Opener

    The Queanbeyan Kangaroos defeated the Tuggeranong Bushrangers 30-16 in an exciting Canberra Raiders Cup season opener.

    The Queanbeyan Kangaroos take down the Tuggeranong Bushrangers 30-16 in a thrilling season opener.

    Tuggeranong Bushrangers and Queanbeyan Kangaroos kicked off the 2026 Canberra Raiders Cup season at 3pm in Greenway.

    The preliminary final rematch marked an exciting opening to the season, after the Kangaroos put on a dominating performance and defeated the Bushrangers 46-24.

    With both teams naming new faces and experienced players, the day promised an exciting game.

    Queanbeyan kicked off the highly anticipated season with a knock-on from Tuggeranong, giving the Roos an early chance.

  • 'Up in the air': Club yet to find home as opponents might block 10m-short ground

    A Canberra club seeks a shorter field due to asbestos issues, but rival clubs oppose the proposed site.

    A Canberra club is hoping to play on a field 10m shorter than regulation, but opposition from rival clubs could block the asbestos-forced move.

    It means the Woden Valley Rams, on the eve of the Canberra Raiders Cup season, still don't have a home for 2026.

    The ACT government suggested Woden Athletics Park for both the Rams and rugby union club Canberra Royals after asbestos was found at Phillip Enclosed.

    The Canberra Times revealed the venue's playing surface wouldn't be ready in time for the coming winter after non-friable asbestos was discovered in the ground during irrigation installation.
