Tom Starling condemned misogynistic abuse towards women, highlighting it as unacceptable even in the sports fan culture.

    The Canberra Times

Violence against women is a massive issue in society, which is why Tom Starling was always going to call it out.

The Canberra Raiders hooker received vile, misogynistic abuse directed at him and his partner last month.

Starling, talking about the incident for the first time, said abuse was part and parcel of being an NRL player, while it was "pretty common" for the players to receive abusive messages.

Copping it from the fans was a part of the game the 27-year-old enjoyed.

Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart criticizes NRL officials, sparking debate on the impact of six-agains in the game.

    The Canberra Times

Tongue and Jay Hoffman, a member of the inaugural Green Machine and the first player to reach 100 games for the club, were inducted into the hall of fame on Friday night.

Hoffman played 111 games for the Raiders from 1982-87 - including the club's very first, against South Sydney.
