Canberra Bolster Pack Amid Forward Departures
Canberra Raiders sign Jaiyden Hunt and Lipoi Hopoi for 2027, filling key forward positions after player departures.

Canberra's forward pack will undergo major changes after Josh Papalii's retirement and the departures of Morgan Smithies and Corey Horsburgh to the Perth Bears.
The Raiders have responded by signing Brisbane forward Jaiyden Hunt and Canterbury middle forward Lipoi Hopoi for 2027.
Both players agreed to two-year contracts, keeping them in Canberra through at least the end of 2028.
The double signing fills two of the nine positions remaining on Ricky Stuart's roster for next season.

The Canberra Raiders announced two new signings and face a significant off-season with nine players set to enter the market in November.

The Canberra Raiders have confirmed two new signings, but it's still shaping as a massive off-season contract-wise for the Green Machine.
They officially announced Lipoi Hopoi and Jaiyden Hunt were coming to the capital on Tuesday - both on two-year deals. Scroll down for all the news in our NRL contract tracker.
But the Raiders still have nine players who will go onto the market on November 1 - including future captain Hudson Young.
Ethan Sanders, Tom Starling, Xavier Savage, Matty Nicholson, Sebastian Kris, Chevy Stewart, Vena Patuki-Case and Myles Martin will also enter the final year of their contracts in November.

The Raiders are set for their first finals appearance since joining the NRLW in 2023, with Friday night's elimination clash against the Wests Tigers their first hurdle.
Mackenzie Wiki was with the club from the very beginning, and following in the footsteps of her dad Ruben she became one half of the Raiders' first NRL-NRLW father-daughter duo at the same club.
Now Wiki has a chance to match what her dad achieved in 1994 by winning a premiership for the Green Machine, and it's not a chance she plans on wasting.
