Roosters backrower Angus Crichton has been ruled out of Sunday night's clash against Cronulla due to a nagging foot injury.

It's understood the injury has been hampering Crichton for quite some time, and the second-rower will now seek advice during the week on what the injury could be.

Crichton played 80 minutes against the Dolphins and Raiders, while missing seven minutes against the Storm three weeks ago.

It's unclear at this stage how much time Crichton will miss, with his rugby league career concluding at the end of this season, where he will join the Wallabies in their preparation for a home World Cup in 2027.
