The boom Raiders halfback took time out from his holidays to drop in on the Green Machine's south-east Queensland academy last week.
He's the living embodiment of emerging talent that couldn't get a look-in in his home state and has moved elsewhere to find a path into the NRL.
Black was part of the Brisbane Broncos NRL squad, but the Queensland glamour club recruited Jonah Pezet and Tom Duffy over the top of him, limiting his chances of forcing his way into the NRL side.
