Knights persevere after losing key players, secure vital win to stay in finals race with rivals.
The Knights have shown true grit and determination as they overcame the setback of losing key forwards Tyson Frizell and Kai Pearce-Paul to keep their finals dreams alive after a commanding 36-16 victory over South Sydney.
Rabbitohs captain Cameron Murray found himself in the sinbin just before halftime for a high shot on Frizell, who unfortunately displayed Category 1 HIA symptoms and was forced out of the match.
Pearce-Paul had already left the field moments earlier, with the English second-rower rushed to the hospital due to a severe leg laceration.
Despite the absence of their star second-rowers, Newcastle still managed to maintain their lead at 18-12 and eventually secured the crucial victory that sees them level on points with the Broncos, Dolphins, and Raiders at 26 points - just two points behind the eighth-placed Dragons.
