    The Sharks are excited to confirm that skilled forward Hohepa Puru and reliable outside back Mawene Hiroti have extended their contracts to play through the 2026 season.

    In additional signing news, promising back-rower Harrison Hassett and emerging hooker Xavier Cacciotti have joined the NRL training squad, coming from Penrith and Canberra, respectively.

    Puru showcased his talent in five NRL games this year, after leaving the Raiders to team up with his twin brother Niwhai. Meanwhile, the versatile Hiroti made an impact by scoring five tries in nine games.

    In an exhilarating opening week of finals, the home team faced a quick defeat against the Broncos, followed by another loss to the Sharks in the second week, which ended their campaign.

    Caleb Aekins Joins New Club Ahead of 2026

    Caleb Aekins, former NRL fullback, signed with Bradford Bulls for the 2026 season.

    A former NRL fullback for both the Canberra Raiders and Penrith Panthers, Caleb Aekins has signed with a new club ahead of the 2026 season to further his playing career.

    After spending the current year with the Featherstone Rovers, Aekins will be joining the Bradford Bulls on a one-year deal. The Bulls compete in the overseas Super League competition.

    Aekins, who has represented Wales internationally three times, makes this move following a stint with the Leigh Leopards under coach Adrian Lam. During his three years at Featherstone, he achieved an impressive record with 44 tries in 82 matches.
