Jermaine McEwen and Francis Manuleleua are vital to Newcastle's NRL grand final run, seeking a unique nickname rather than imitating past pairs.
The emergence of the raw-boned back-row duo of Jermaine McEwen and Francis Manuleleua has been critical to Newcastle's run to the NRL grand final.
But as commentators look for a nickname that best sums up the Knights' gruesome twosome, the pair are clear that they don't want to be known as a cheap imitation of what's gone before.
"We don't want to be called the Bash Brothers, because that's already taken, we've got to figure something out," said McEwen.
'The Bash Brothers' was a moniker given to Penrith duo Moses Leota and James Fisher-Harris during the Panthers' run to four-straight premierships.
