NSW dominates Queensland in Women's State of Origin opener with strong display of skill.

New South Wales came out firing at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday, putting on a display of strength and skill to secure a 22-12 victory over Queensland in the Women's State of Origin opener.

In front of a roaring crowd of 25,492, the Sky Blues wasted no time in taking control of the game, with Emma Tonegato and Jaime Chapman scoring quick tries in the first 10 minutes.

The Maroons had a brief glimmer of hope early on, but their chance slipped away after a missed opportunity following a clever grubber kick from Ali Brigginshaw.
