Belconnen United coach Angelo Zaris - who led the club to a Capital Premier League title and promotion to the National Premier League - has made the call to step down.
His exit comes against the backdrop of growing frustration within Canberra soccer circles, which led clubs to issue a powerful vote of no confidence in the governing body.

And Vena Patuki-Case gets a chance to stake his claim to fill that void with his NRL debut.
Tapine's been one of several middles who've increased their playing time to help cover the Raiders' injuries in their forward pack.
Canberra coach Ricky Stuart has praised Tapine, Corey Horsburgh and Morgan Smithies' efforts in covering the absences of Papali'i (calf), Matty Nicholson (shoulder), Simi Sasagi (shoulder), Hudson Young (State of Origin and suspension), Noah Martin (ankles) and Zac Hosking (concussion), which left them short of forwards.

Melbourne Storm launch impactful initiative for mental health
The Melbourne Storm will host a mental health round on June 21 to raise awareness and support for mental health initiatives.

The Melbourne Storm will hold its inaugural mental health round when the Canberra Raiders visit AAMI Park on June 21.
The initiative has been introduced to spread awareness surrounding mental health and bring emotional vulnerability to light, and the strength to speak out when struggling.
The NewsWire is revealing that there will be free mental health check-ins, fundraising and pins available to purchase, where all proceeds will be donated to Beyond Blue, an independent Australian not-for-profit organisation.
"We know that when it comes to men's sport and men in general, we're tough on the field. But for us, the importance of this round is saying that we're tackling tough together," Storm chief executive Justin Rodski said to the NewsWire.
