    In a clear sign of how tight this Raiders group is, The Canberra Times can reveal they've decided to split their minor premiership prizemoney equally among every single player in the squad - regardless of whether they've played a game or not.

    That includes the top-30 squad, the development players and anyone on a train-and-trial deal.

    Another debutant locked in for Canberra as centre ruled out

    The Canberra Raiders will rest several players for Round 27 against the Dolphins, including debutants.

    The Canberra Raiders have confirmed they will increase their list of resting players for Round 27 against the Dolphins, with another debutant set to play.

    The Raiders confirmed on Tuesday that all of Kaeo Weekes, Jed Stuart, Ethan Strange, Jamal Fogarty, Joseph Tapine, Tom Starling, Josh Papalii, Hudson Young, Simi Sasagi and Zac Hosking would be rested as part of a team to play the Dolphins.

    It's unclear whether Timoko is simply being rested, or whether other factors are at play given the Raiders' only update said Timoko had been "ruled out".

    AJ Bala discovered rugby league in the late 1980s through the Canberra Raiders' growing popularity.

    Rugby league is a sport that isn't "part of the world" in Sri Lanka, where Canberran Ajanthan 'AJ' Bala was born.

    But in the late 1980s, his family discovered the Canberra Raiders.

    They stumbled upon rugby league through the "rising glory" of the Raiders at the time.

    "Everyone in Canberra was talking about them," AJ recalled on the Raiders.com.au website.

    "The Green Machine was becoming a phenomenon, and in the middle of all that buzz, we got curious.

    "One weekend, Dad turned on the radio. We didn't know the rules, but it didn't matter. There was a rhythm to the game, a heartbeat that matched our own. We were hooked."
