We love the mighty Canberra Raiders
The oft-repeated line in sports is "defence wins championships", and the Canberra Raiders' NRLW team will be built on that mantra.
There was a sneak preview of that in the gritty NSWRL Women's Premiership grand final effort from the Raiders' feeder club, Mounties, which featured a handful of inaugural Raiders women including superstars Simaima Taufa and Kerehitina Matua.
Last week they won the title in an incredible arm-wrestle with a final scoreline of 1-0.
The Cowboys have finally clicked into gear and produced a “defining” performance that may just be the “turning point” of their season.
It’s a different story for the reigning premiers, who edging closer to the toughest point of their season — the Origin period.
And speaking of Origin, Ricky Stuart believes one of his star forwards has all the ingredients for the brutal arena.
Mitch Moses concussed as Titans edge out Eels
Walking-wounded Kieran Foran and rookie winger Alofiana Khan-Pereira have inspired Gold Coast to a 26-24 NRL Magic Round defeat of Parramatta, who lost halfback Mitchell Moses to a category-one concussion late in the game.
Moses picked up his injury attempting to tackle 19-year-old debutant Keano Kini in the final 10 minutes of Sunday's match and will miss at least next week's game against Canberra as part of the league's head injury policy.
The Titans' second upset victory in as many weeks puts their record-equalling capitulation against the Dolphins firmly in the rear-view mirror and moves them into the top eight after round 10.
