Kirsten Tapine has always been a force to be reckoned with - just ask her husband, Canberra skipper Joe Tapine, and Raiders coach Ricky Stuart.
Both have been met by the strength of her convictions and left with slightly battered egos, but on each occasion have emerged better men for it.
Ten years ago Kirsten gave Tapine, 31, an ultimatum - stop gambling or she's walking out on him.
"I had a gambling addiction," Tapine said.

Sharks centre Jesse Ramien says it would be a "massive" honour to land a debut Kangaroos selection, but is refusing to look past Saturday's NRL semi final in Canberra.
Australian selectors are on the hunt for outside backs given the dearth of available centres following a number of withdrawals.
The likes of Tom Trbojevic, Latrell Mitchell, Valentine Holmes, and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow are all ruled out of the Ashes tour to England next month, while fellow gun centres Stephen Crichton and Robert Toia have pledged allegiance to other countries.
