    NRL Market Watch: Canberra Raiders table new contract for Jamal Fogarty amid Manly Sea Eagles interest

    Jamal Fogarty may reject Manly for two-year deal with Canberra, including on-field clauses for extension.

    Halfback Jamal Fogarty will now consider rejecting Manly to re-sign with Canberra after the Raiders revised their offer to two years.

    It would be a crushing blow to Manly, who had targeted Fogarty as a replacement for veteran skipper Daly Cherry-Evans from next season.

    Having initially a one-year deal, Raiders management has now tabled a two-season contract which would mean Fogarty could stay in Canberra and avoid shifting his family to Sydney.

    Canberra has included some clauses Fogarty must achieve on-field to trigger the second year.

    Those close to the negotiations suggest the kickers would be attainable to Fogarty.

    The Raiders have tabled a two-year offer in a bid to keep halfback Jamal Fogarty in Canberra as the playmaker weighs up an offer to replace Daly Cherry-Evans on the northern beaches.

    Manly had come knocking in a bid to sign Fogarty as a replacement for Cherry-Evans, who has declared his intention to leave the Sea Eagles at the end of the NRL season.

    The Raiders had opted against triggering a one-year option worth about $650,000, but have instead moved to construct a two-year contract reportedly worth up to $1 million.
