    Canberra have extended the invite to UFC supremo Dana White to blow the Viking horn when they open their campaign in Las Vegas.

    According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the club have reached out to a number of American sporting identities, with White at the top of their hit list.

    The polarising mind behind the combat sports colossus has already confirmed he will be in attendance at Allegiant Stadium on March 2 (AEDT) in a major boost for the NRL.

    Canberra invites Dana White to blow $10,000 Viking horn at NFL debut in Las Vegas.

    Canberra have extended an invitation to UFC boss Dana White to blow a new American-made Viking horn costing in excess of $10,000 to trumpet their side's Las Vegas debut.

    The blowing of the horn has become a tradition at Raiders home games and the club wants American fans to share in the experience for the NRL season-opener at Allegiant Stadium. The task of transporting their usual horn all the way to the United States was deemed too difficult, prompting the club hierarchy to commission a Los Angeles-based firm to construct a new 3.6-metre, 36-kilogram instrument especially for the occasion.

    Canberra look to have finally found a long-term hooker in Owen Pattie, who has signed a bumper contract extension with the Raiders.

    Pattie shone with two tries for the Raiders in their first NRL trial, a defeat of understrength Penrith, and has now been fast-tracked into first-grade plans.

    Originally only a development player for 2025, Pattie has been upgraded to the Raiders' top-30 squad and will remain at the club until at least the end of 2028.
