    Canberra defeated Parramatta 40-16, solidifying their top NRL spot despite a challenging match.

    Canberra have survived a scare from wooden spoon fancies Parramatta to storm home for a 40-16 win that solidifies top spot on the NRL ladder.

    If the Raiders were part of any movie, they would be starring in 'Catch Me If You Can'.

    The competition leaders' 15th win from 18 starts wasn't as comfortable as the final score suggests though.

    Raiders started strong with two tries from Kris and Hosking, both converted by Fogarty.

    The Raiders got off to a red hot start when a perfectly executed short side play on the left was capped off when Sebastian Kris, with a defender on top of him, batted a pass along to Jed Stuart who scored a good try. Jamal Fogarty converted from the sideline.

    The Eels restart then went too deep. The Raiders got a penalty on halfway and went straight back on the attack. At the end of the set, Fogarty held up a nice ball for Zac Hosking, close to the line, and the back rower scored. Fogarty converted.

    Raiders overcame Eels 40-16, rallying from halftime deficit to secure eighth consecutive win.

    The Raiders have survived a massive scare from the Eels to further solidify their position atop the NRL ladder with an eighth-straight win.

    The Green Machine eventually won 40-16, but that doesn't remotely paint the full picture.

    Canberra trailed 16-12 at half time, but rallied in the second half to score five unanswered tries, with three coming in the final eight minutes, flattering the scoreboard.
