Parramatta Eels ready to tackle Raiders in NRL Challenge
The Parramatta Eels have unveiled their squad for the highly anticipated clash against the Canberra Raiders in the NRL Pre-Season Challenge.
In a strategic move, coach Brad Arthur has carefully selected a mix of seasoned veterans and promising young talent to make a statement in their first trial match of 2024.
Leading the pack as the captain for this fixture is the resilient Shaun Lane, eager to prove himself after a frustrating 2023 season riddled with injuries.
Alongside Lane, the Eels will also have the steady presence of Ryan Matterson, Bailey Simonsson, Sean Russell, and Wiremu Greig.
Young Raiders halves in trial shoot-out
It's a halves shoot-out. Kaeo Weekes and Ethan Strange will go head-to-head for the Canberra Raiders No.6 jersey in their first pre-season trial.
The pair have spent the pre-season looking to establish themselves as Raiders five-eighth come round one.
They'll have both trials to make the No.6 jersey their own, with their next opportunity partnering each other in the halves in the trial against the Parramatta Eels at Kogarah Oval on Saturday.
