Newcastle halfback Jackson Hastings may not even be fit to return next week should the Knights keep their season alive against the Warriors on Saturday afternoon.
That is according to Newcastle coach Adam O'Brien, who told reporters there is a possibility Hastings' injury is serious enough to keep him sidelined.
"Potentially. I'm not across everything just yet, but potentially," O'Brien said when asked if Hastings could spend more time out with what he described as a "quite significant" injury.
It's the lime green shoots in the Canberra Raiders' engine room that had Hudson Young eager to re-sign.
And he's predicted the likes of Ata Mariota, Trey Mooney and Hohepa Puru could form the next wave of Green Machine front-row stars.
Young re-signed with the Raiders until the end of 2027, with The Canberra Times expecting the club to announce a similar extension for Corey Horsburgh in the coming days.
Redcliffe Dolphins fullback Trai Fuller and Wynnum Manly Seagulls second rower Shaniah Power have been recognized as the premier players in their respective competitions at the Queensland Rugby League awards.
Fuller was awarded the prestigious Petero Civoniceva Medal, which is given to the best and fairest player in the Hostplus Cup.
Power, on the other hand, received the Steph Hancock BMD Premiership Player of the Year award.
The QRL Awards lunch, held at Brisbane City Hall, saw the celebration of their remarkable achievements, attended by 350 guests.
