Des Hasler, facing pressure, vows to continue coaching despite Gold Coast's struggles as he reaches 500 games.

He might be under pressure heading into his 500th game as an NRL coach but Des Hasler has no plans to retire.

Far from being a coach willing to fade away into the sunset, Hasler said defiantly: "I want to coach on."

The two-time premiership-winning coach has vowed to continue his career despite the axe hovering over his head as Gold Coast run last on the NRL competition table.

Hasler will become just the sixth NRL coach to reach the 500-game milestone when Gold Coast plays the Warriors in Auckland on Saturday.

Jayden Brailey is excited for Canberra but aims to end their winning streak as a Knight.

Canberra's rise this year might have Jayden Brailey excited about joining them next season, but the Knights hooker would be more than happy to end the NRL leader's eight-game winning streak this week.

Brailey, who signed a two-year deal with the Raiders in March, faces his future club at Canberra's GIO Stadium on Sunday.

The 29-year-old agreed to link with the Green Machine before they shot to the top of the NRL ladder, and while he has naturally kept an eye on their campaign this year, there should be no doubts about where his loyalties lie while wearing a red-and-blue jersey.

Canberra Raiders exploring contract extensions for Simi Sasagi and meeting with two forwards.

In preparation for the future, the Canberra Raiders are currently in talks with a versatile utility and will soon meet with the management of two forwards as November 1 nears.

Over the past few years, the Raiders have undergone an extensive roster rebuild, acquiring several of the best up-and-coming players while releasing some of their veterans, including Jack Wighton and Jordan Rapana.

Speaking with The Canberra Times, CEO Don Furner confirmed that the Raiders are currently in talks with Simi Sasagi to extend him on a two-year contract until the end of the 2028 NRL season.
