Warriors' Dally M favourite returns, rivals face injury plight

Injury woes have hit three teams hard as they prepare for their must-win NRL semi-finals, while the Warriors have received a much-needed boost with the return of Dally M favourite Shaun Johnson.
The star halfback missed the Warriors' qualifying final loss to the Panthers due to a calf issue but has now been named to take on Newcastle in Auckland.
However, the Knights have been dealt a devastating blow with experienced playmaker Jackson Hastings ruled out after aggravating an ankle injury in their thrilling win over Canberra.
Melbourne Storm, on the other hand, have lost winger Xavier Coastes but have recalled Justin Olam and Reimis Smith for their clash with the Roosters.

Wighton hit with THREE game ban after being found GUILTY of biting charge - Judiciary

The Rabbitohs will be without key recruit Jack Wighton for the start of the 2024 season after the former rep star was banned for three matches at a fiery judiciary hearing for intentionally biting Newcastle's Tyson Gamble in Sunday's elimination final.
The Raiders five-eighth was referred directly to the judiciary for an incident in the 47th minute when Gamble reeled out of a tackle and made an official complaint to referee Ashley Klein that he'd been bitten.

Jack Wighton will spend the first three games of South Sydney's 2024 campaign on the sideline after being found guilty of biting.
Wighton, who unsuccessfully argued that Tyson Gamble made the on-field allegation in a bid to swing Sunday's elimination final Newcastle's way, was given a three-week suspension at the NRL judiciary on Tuesday night after leaving teeth marks on Gamble's forearm in his last game for Canberra.
The Rabbitohs-bound star said pressure applied by Gamble to his mouth was the sole cause of the marks - and that "not at one stage did I bite down" - but his protests were dismissed by the judiciary panel...
