Departing Raiders gun Jack Wighton has been referred directly to the judiciary to face a biting allegation after Knights five-eighth Tyson Gamble complained to referee Ash Klein during Sunday's epic elimination final.
Canberra was dumped from the finals in sensational fashion after Kalyn Ponga kicked a penalty goal deep into extra time to condemn the Raiders.
That signalled the end of Wighton's time at the Green Machine, with the star utility now facing a stint on the sidelines when he first links up with the Rabbitohs in 2024.

Jack Wighton's South Sydney career could start with a lengthy stint on the sideline after he was directly referred to the judiciary for allegedly biting Newcastle's Tyson Gamble.
Wighton's last game in a 12-year career with Canberra was marred by biting allegations after the Knights' stunning extra-time win on Sunday, which ended the Raiders' season and Wighton's 241-game spell with his junior club.
The 30-year-old will arrive at the Rabbitohs as their star signing, but Tuesday night's judiciary hearing will dictate when the ex-Blues and Kangaroos utility first pulls on the cardinal and myrtle.

Gamble keen to move on from Wighton biting claim

Newcastle's Tyson Gamble is keen to draw a line under his claim he was bitten by Jack Wighton as the departing Canberra star faces being ruled out for the start of the 2024 season.
Wighton played his final game for the Raiders in their 30-28 elimination final defeat away to the Knights ahead of next year's move to join South Sydney.
Gamble accused Wighton of biting him on the arm in the 47th minute after the Newcastle five-eighth had tackled the seven-cap Australian international.
Despite protests from the Knights and Gamble showing him alleged bite marks, referee Ashley Klein only placed Wighton on report and opted not to send him...
