The Canberra Raiders will need to rely on their 'next man up' mantra to perform this Sunday in Cronulla to seal a finals berth.

Injuries to influential prop Josh Papali'i (bicep) and halfback Jamal Fogarty (eye socket) have thrown a spanner in the works for the final round of the season.

The Raiders pair had scans on Monday and fans will learn on Tuesday afternoon when teams are announced, whether the players will miss the weekend trip to the Shire.

According to Channel 9 reporter Danny Weidler, Thompson is keen on making the move to the Tricolours to fill the void left by Matt Lodge and Fletcher Baker's off-season departure.

NRL weigh up possible Stuart fine over refs comment

    The Daily Mail

Fox Sports bosses have apologised to Ricky Stuart and admitted the broadcaster went a step too far by getting a camera in his face on Saturday.

The Raiders coach is facing sanctions from the NRL after he appeared to swear directly at a camera during Canberra's 29-18 loss against the Broncos at GIO Stadium.

An angry Stuart could be seen mouthing 'f*** off' as he stared at the camera late in the second half - but some have suggested he said 'back off' instead.

And Fox Sports boss Steve Crawley has now apologised for invading Stuart's personal space.

'I spoke to Ricky this morning and apologised to him,' he told News Corp.
