Chief Minister Andrew Barr says stadium ownership looms as a deal-breaker for his Bruce renewal plan, adamant the ACT government must own a new facility and declaring there were too many red-flag problems to justify pursuing Civic as a location option.

In an attempt to ease tension between ACT government officials and stadium users, Barr has already reached out to Civic supporters at the NRL, Rugby Australia and the A-Leagues to flag his desire to work together to build a new venue at Bruce before 2033.

Canberra Raiders co-captain Jarrod Croker insists he's happy to play on a significantly reduced wage next season if the club allows him to play on.

The centre, who just appeared in his 300th NRL game, is off-contract at the end of the season, and there have been no reports on what lies in his future.

Currently earning a reported $700,000 per season, Croker admitted to the Sydney Morning Herald that he is willing to play on an extremely reduced wage.

If the club wants me to keep playing, I'll keep playing for whatever they need, Croker said via the Herald.

Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy has shut down talk of a return to the NSW Origin arena, declaring he isn't interested.

Amid talk current Blues coach Brad Fittler faces the axe after losing three of the past four series, Bellamy has been floated as a possibility.

Canberra coach Ricky Stuart, NSW assistant and ex-Dragons coach Paul McGregor and even former Wallabies coach Michael Cheika have also been touted as possibilities.

With one match in the current Origin series remaining next month and the Blues trailing 0-2, Fittler's future will be decided by a NSWRL review.
