  • 'It is freezing': Why the Raiders began training before the crack of dawn

    Sophie Holyman braves early morning training despite freezing temperatures, aiming for Raiders' first finals campaign.

    When Queensland State of Origin star Sophie Holyman rolls up to training before 6am at the Raiders' headquarters in Braddon and her car reads the outside temperature as minus 2 degrees, you wouldn't blame her for wanting to turn back and go home.

    Outside it's dark, there's frost all over the field, and the gym at the Raiders' facility frankly isn't as warm and welcoming as a doona in bed.

    But the Raiders NRLW team have embraced the grind of pre-season by implementing three morning gym sessions a week on top of their regular afternoon training schedules in the hopes it pushes them towards their first finals campaign.

    The decision comes as Tungai chooses to take time away from the sport after participating in the club's inaugural two NRLW seasons.

    Raiders NRLW coach Darrin Borthwick expressed the club's support, stating they wish Tungai "all the best for the year ahead."

    Canberra Raiders NRLW adds four players to development list for 2025 season, enhancing team depth.

    The Canberra Raiders NRLW have confirmed their development list for the upcoming 2025 NRLW season with the arrival of four new players.

    In an announcement earlier in the week, the club announced that Marley Cardwell, Lili Boyle, Madyson Tooth and Uta Uatisone Poka will all join the club's development list and can be used out of the Top 24 roster.

    "I was tipped on about Lili four or five years ago when she was a 13/14-year-old. I watched her play Tarsha Gale last year for Manly and she moved into the NSW Harvey Norman Women's Premiership squad.
