Raiders to lodge formal complaint with NRL over Sharks trainer

Canberra to complain about NRL incident involving Sharks trainer affecting conversion attempt. Meeting Tuesday.

The Sydney Morning Herald

Canberra will lodge a formal complaint with the NRL on Tuesday over an incident in Sunday night's defeat to Cronulla that calls the Sharks' sportsmanship into question.

The Raiders are upset after Sharks trainer Daniel Holdsworth ran through the line of sight of halfback Jamal Fogarty as he was moving in to attempt a conversion. With Cronulla up 30-22 at the time, the two points would have reduced the deficit to six with eight minutes remaining - but Fogarty's kick hit the upright.

The NRL is aware of the incident and will discuss whether there is a case for the Sharks to answer at their end-of-round football review on Tuesday...
