The Raiders may offer Hudson Young a fourth contract year, but he still plans to explore free agency options.
The Canberra Raiders have indicated they are willing to add a fourth year to Hudson Young's contract offer but it seems unlikely to stop the NSW and Australian back rower from heading to the NRL open market on November 1.
It comes as the Raiders made a crucial re-signing by keeping young half Ethan Sanders at the club.
The Raiders initially offered Young, 28, a three-year extension worth $1.1 million a season, but it is understood they have told his agent Sam Ayoub that they would consider a fourth year if it means he stays at the club.

However, it looks as though Young will still explore his options for the 2028 season when the free agent window opens in three weeks, with expansion side the PNG Chiefs well and truly on his radar.
