Raiders Women fall short to Roosters in Canberra

The Canberra Raiders narrowly lost to the Sydney Roosters, 22-18, in a competitive match.

The Canberra Raiders have come up agonisingly short to competition heavy weights the Sydney Roosters, falling 22-18 at GIO Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Having survived an early attacking raid from the Raiders, the Roosters were able to convert with their first opportunity on the Raiders line, with Jayme Fressard crossing for the first try of the afternoon.

Unphased, Canberra immediately struck back through the likes of Bobbi Law carrying a number of defenders with her on the way to level scores at 4-4, just over 10 minutes into the contest.

With both outfits having settled back into a back-and-forth brand of footy, Canberra took an opportunity to go up 6-4 through the boot of Zahara Temara after receiving a penalty deep within the Roosters half.
