Adam Doueihi withdraws from NRL game due to a heated argument with coach Benji Marshall over his playing position.
Wests Tigers star Adam Doueihi is a shock withdrawal from Saturday's NRL clash with the Canberra Raiders following a heated argument with coach Benji Marshall at training on Thursday.
Doueihi walked out of the club's Concord headquarters after Marshall told him he would be playing lock, rather than his preferred position in the Tigers' halves.
The Tigers playmaker had been named in reserve jersey No.22 to tackle the Raiders with Eels-bound star Jarome Luai and 19-year-old NRL debutant Javon Andrews named in the halves for the clash in the nation's capital.
However, the Tigers playmaker successfully fought a high-tackle charge at the NRL judiciary on Tuesday which cleared him to line up against Canberra
It's understood Doueihi believed he would be inserted back into the halves, and was surprised when Marshall told him he would play in the back row, to potentially come off the interchange bench as a substitute for No.13 Alex Twal.
