Simaima Taufa's eye is swollen shut but there's a good chance the Canberra Raiders captain can still find this one in the record books.

Canberra recorded their second biggest winning margin in NRLW history while claiming back-to-back wins to start a season for the first time with a 42-16 win over the New Zealand Warriors at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.

Canberra looked destined to equal their biggest winning margin in history, only for an Ocean Tierney try in the dying stages to reshuffle this game's place in the record books.

The 26-point margin falls shy of the 32-point win over the Canterbury Bulldogs last year, while it was the second time Canberra had cracked the 40-point barrier in NRLW history.
