South Sydney are fuming at supercoach Wayne Bennett over the Dolphins openly targeting superstar fullback Latrell Mitchell for the NRL’s 17th team with a $4 million deal.
The Rabbitohs have questioned whether the coach who guided the Redfern-based outfit to the 2021 grand final is attempting to destabilise his former club leading into the finals.
Bennett created a contract firestorm around Mitchell on Tuesday when the seven-time premiership-winner stated if he misses out on the signature of Queensland five-eighth Cameron Munster then the South Sydney fullback will become his next priority target.
