Canberra Raiders women secured their first victory, defeating New Zealand Warriors 20-16 in seven rounds.
It took seven rounds for the Canberra Raiders women to taste victory, but they finally did it on Saturday night in a dramatic upset over the New Zealand Warriors that included not one, but two send-offs.
Canberra came to Hamilton desperate to end its winless start to the 2025 NRLW campaign, and the passionately sung team song in the sheds after the 20-16 triumph highlighted just how much it meant to the squad.
"To come all the way over here and go away with a win, we're pretty happy with that," Raiders coach Darrin Borthwick said.
"There were lots of nerves at the back end... I have to credit the resolve that our players showed to keep turning up for each other.
