The Raiders withdrew a $4.4 million offer to Hudson Young, who faced competition from the PNG Chiefs for his contract.
The Canberra Raiders have withdrawn a $4.4 million offer to State of Origin forward Hudson Young.
Raiders won't be offering Young, who has played nine Origins for NSW and six Tests for Australia, a deal.
In a bid to fight off the PNG Chiefs, the Raiders tabled a four-year, $1.1 million per season, deal for Young to keep him in Canberra until the end of 2031.
The Chiefs targeted the 28-year-old with a reported $900,000 per-season (tax-free) offer as they look to bolster their thin forward pack.
