Cameron Smith questions Reece Walsh not being sin-binned. Broncos win thanks to Haas and Reynolds. Walsh struggles.
Queensland legend Cameron Smith has questioned why Reece Walsh wasn't sent to the sin-bin for his shoulder charge on Friday night as Broncos coach Michael Maguire could be forced to reshuffle his line-up if the fullback is suspended. The Broncos managed to dig deep and defeat a resurgent Cowboys outfit 26-16 thanks to Payne Haas' barnstorming form and Adam Reynolds' class.
While the Broncos weathered an early storm, they managed to wrestle back field position from the Cowboys thanks to an inspired 40/20 from Walsh. After a week of criticism, which saw many implore Walsh to go back to basics after the Raiders defeat, it appeared the fullback had taken on the advice as he focused on his running game.
However, it all started to go wrong for the electric fullback towards half-time as he continued to shuffle sideways in attack and try a number of passes that were not on. Walsh finished with five errors as mistakes mounted having put his teammates under pressure with a number of poor passes.
