The Queensland Confraternity Carnival has begun, featuring 72 teams in Brisbane, with defending champions aiming to retain their titles.
The ultimate Queensland school rugby league tournament has officially started in Brisbane, with the 46th Confraternity Carnival kicking off in wet, muddy, and heavy conditions on Monday.
For the first time in its rich history, Marist College Ashgrove is playing host and has transformed into a massive seven-field footy hub for 72 teams and more than 1800 students from Catholic and independent schools across the state to battle it out.
Defending boys' Confraternity Shield champions St Patrick's College, Mackay, and last year's girls' champions The Cathedral College, Rockhampton, will be out to defend their crowns, while 2025 runners-up Padua College and St James' College are already hunting redemption.
With recent carnival graduates like Owen Pattie (Raiders), Tom Duffy (Broncos), Xavier Kerrisk (Cowboys), and Phillip Coates (Broncos) all currently in NRL systems, the raw talent again on display this week will be undeniable.
This masthead will be on the sidelines bringing you rolling coverage from Monday's action through to Friday's grand finals.
