    Monaro Colts Johns & Daley Cups: Round One Wrap

    The Monaro Colts were defeated by the Central Coast Roosters in Round One of both the Andrew Johns and Laurie Daley Cups at Morry Breen Oval on Saturday.

    Monaro faced the tough challenge of coming up against last year's premiers to kick start their campaign. 

    The Colts started strong, with lock and captain Billy Jay Pumpa getting over the line for the first points of the match. 

    It didn't take long before Roosters snagged the lead through quick back-to-back tries from winger Semi Leweniqila.

  • CRRL: Congratulations to Steve Hewson

    Congratulations to Steve Hewson

    Canberra Region Rugby League

    The CRRL would like to congratulate Steve Hewson for receiving a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in this year's Australia Day Honours for service to Rugby League. 

    Steve is a Queanbeyan Blues and Monaro legend, also known for his representation for NSW Country and NSW Firsts.

    In 1975, he was named the Country Player of the Year after an upset victory against the City Firsts. In the same year, he played for NSW Firsts against Queensland, scoring a try in both his appearances.
