Ethan Strange could partner Nathan Cleary in the NSWRL squad as Mitchell Moses' fitness remains uncertain ahead of Game Two.

The Canberra Times

Ethan Strange is being backed to help bring the State of Origin shield back to NSW as question marks hover over the fitness of Parramatta playmaker Mitchell Moses.

NSW Blues coach Laurie Daley is poised to name his squad for game two of the State of Origin series on Monday night, with Strange and Moses in the mix to partner Nathan Cleary in the halves.

Strange stole the show in a wild series opener but is no guarantee to start at five-eighth at the MCG on June 17, with Moses - who will miss Parramatta's King's Birthday clash with the Bulldogs - set to be given a deadline to prove his fitness to Daley.

Canberra Raiders star Hudson Young is poised to retain a place in the Blues' back-row, and he has backed his clubmate to shine if Moses succumbs to a hamstring injury.
