Elliott Whitehead confronts Trent Robinson after tackle injures Brandon Smith, leading to ACL rupture and surgery.
Fresh footage has emerged of Elliott Whitehead and Trent Robinson's heated post-game exchange. Whitehead took aim at the Roosters coach after the match for not accepting his post-match apology for the tackle that injured hooker Brandon Smith.
It resulted in Smith rupturing his ACL after his leg got awkwardly entangled in the tackle with the Raiders skipper in Canberra's' 14-12 win on Sunday. Smith will need to undergo surgery, putting him out for the remainder of the 2024 NRL season and the start of the 2025 campaign.
Whitehead and Robinson spoke of the spat in their respective press conferences following the Raiders' 14-12 win over the Roosters. But fresh vision of the incident has since emerged, showing Whitehead walking over to Robinson before the pair seemingly engage in a heated exchange before the Raiders skipper walks away.
