Coby Black, a former Broncos player, excelled with the Raiders, showcasing his talent with a standout performance against Manly.

A member of the Brisbane Broncos pathways since the age of 12, Coby Black shocked the rugby league world at the end of last year when he decided to depart the club and link up with the Canberra Raiders.

Considered a halfback prodigy by many, the Under-19s Queensland Maroons representative had his most complete performance for the Raiders over the weekend since making the move to the nation's capital.

Likened to Adam Reynolds, Black's attacking prowess was on full display as he crossed for a double, had one line-break and provided one try assist as the club defeated the Manly Sea Eagles 35-16.

The good performance is certain to put pressure on the club's first-grade incumbent half Ethan Sanders, with both players set to have long-term futures in the NRL competition.

"I see a good organising halfback in Coby," Raiders coach Ricky Stuart said about Black at the end of last year.
