Katrina Fanning, a pioneering figure in women's rugby league, has been appointed as Chair of the International Rugby League's Women & Girls Advisory Group.

Fanning, who was inducted into the NRL Hall of Fame last year, is passionate about promoting the growth of women's rugby league globally.

With 27 nations now fielding international women's teams and upcoming Women's World Cups in 2026 and 2028, Fanning sees great potential for the sport.

Fanning's experience in leadership roles within the sport includes serving as President of the Australian Women's Rugby League and Canberra Women's Rugby League.
