NZ Warriors head coach Ron Griffiths has announced an unchanged lineup for the club's landmark Indigenous Round match against the Canberra Raiders at FMG Stadium Waikato, the home of the Tainui People, in Hamilton/Kirikiriroa on Saturday (7.15pm kick-off).

The Warriors will debut their first-ever NRLW Indigenous jersey, Te Kahue Here, during this match, marking the beginning of three standalone home games in the Waikato region.

  • Roosters Target Playmaker Amid Cherry-Evans Uncertainty

Roosters playmaker linked to Raiders swoop as doubts raised over Daly Cherry-Evans move

Roosters allow Sandon Smith to negotiate; Cherry-Evans eyes potential one-year contract with them.

    LeagueNews.co

The Roosters have reportedly informed Sandon Smith that he is free to explore negotiations with other clubs, with the Raiders emerging as a potential destination for the young star. Meanwhile, fans are eagerly anticipating an announcement from Daly Cherry-Evans, whose recent comments regarding his future with the Manly Sea Eagles have stirred frustration.

Cherry-Evans, who declared earlier this season that he would not be with Manly in 2026, has left many questioning his next move. The ongoing uncertainty around the 36-year-old halfback has allegedly affected the team dynamics, as he has yet to confirm his destination for the upcoming season. He has been heavily linked to a move with the Roosters.

Reports indicate that Cherry-Evans may sign a one-year contract, before moving into a coaching role at the Roosters, suggesting that preparations for his potential arrival are underway. NRL reporter Michael Chammas has stated that the Roosters' decision to allow Smith to negotiate with other teams signals this move.
