Unexpected Club Joins Jonah Pezet Pursuit

Jonah Pezet's potential moves draw interest from multiple clubs despite his Storm contract.

    LeagueNews.co

Jonah Pezet, the young playmaker from Melbourne Storm, is in the spotlight as another club steps in to vie for his signature. While previously linked to the Gold Coast Titans and North Queensland Cowboys, reports suggest the Parramatta Eels are now considering a move for him.

Pezet is regarded as the potential heir to the Storm's current playmakers, Cameron Munster and Jahrome Hughes. Though he is under contract with the Storm until the end of 2029, an extension of Hughes' contract has enabled Pezet to become a free agent, allowing him to explore other options in the market.

Thanks to a clause in his contract, Pezet, considered one of the brightest young talents in rugby league, can engage with rival teams. His impressive track record, crowned by his experience as a former junior State of Origin representative, has drawn significant interest. Over recent months, he has caught the attention of teams such as the Cowboys, Titans, Canberra Raiders, and Newcastle Knights, although the latter two franchises have since withdrawn from the pursuit.
