Melbourne Storm set to make financial contribution towards forward’s departure

Josiah Pahulu is leaving Melbourne Storm for Canberra Raiders, with Storm paying half his salary for 2027.

Zero Tackle

The Melbourne Storm are set to pay almost half of Josiah Pahulu's salary next year as he prepares to exit the Victorian-based club bound for the Canberra Raiders.

Pahulu's exit has become a topic of increasing negotiation and speculation in recent times after a miserable 2026 campaign in Melbourne, where he struggled to find playing time in the first-grade team.

Formerly at the Gold Coast Titans, Pahulu was expected to be a breakout star, but has struggled to hit his potential at the top level and is now set to leave the Storm ahead of 2027.

News Corp are reporting that his move to the Canberra Raiders has been all but ticked off, with only an announcement left to be made, after the Storm agreed to pay around half of his salary for the coming season - where he still would have been contracted in the Victorian capital otherwise.
