The squads are in for this year's opening State of Origin game in Adelaide, with the Maroons giving Broncos young gun Reece Walsh a chance in place of Kalyn Ponga, while the Blues name three debutants, including Nicho Hynes.

For the Blues, Hynes has been rewarded for his strong play for the Sharks at half-back with his first inclusion in a NSW squad.

Manly's Jake Trbojevic was a late withdrawal from the squad, giving the Bulldogs' Tevita Pangai Junior a chance to make his Origin debut.

Canberra back-rower Hudson Young is in line for a debut as well.
