    The Canberra Raiders' newest high flyer, Sione Finau, is hoping to take a major leap in 2026 as he looks to cement his place in first grade.

    While he's faced with an uphill battle as he prepares to fight his way into a stacked Raiders backline, Finau believes he's more likely to earn it now than he was at the St George Illawarra Dragons.

    "I was at that point, when I was at the Dragons, I felt like I needed some change," Finau admitted.

    "I felt like I needed more game time."

    Chevy Stewart, a young player for the Canberra Raiders, has evaded a criminal record following a drunken incident that resulted in nearly $5,000 in damages.

    The fullback entered a guilty plea for a charge of property destruction after an occurrence at the Northies Cronulla Hotel last September.

    During the court proceedings, it was disclosed that Stewart was at a gaming machine with friends around 9:45 PM when he spilled a "very small" amount of his drink on the screen after a loss.

    Canberra Raiders youngster Chevy Stewart has avoided a criminal conviction after an alcohol-fuelled incident at a Sydney venue caused close to $5,000 worth of damage.

    The fullback pleaded guilty to one count of destroying or damaging property following an incident at the Northies Cronulla Hotel last September.

    While Stewart initially walked away unaware of the damage, the liquid caused the machine to short-circuit, plunging the entire gaming room into darkness.

    An agreed statement of facts tendered to the court revealed other patrons later attempted to use the machine before power to the room was lost entirely.
