Major hint dropped over Corey Horsburgh's future
Perth Bears target Corey Horsburgh after failing to sign Junior Paulo, who seeks a $900,000 per season deal.

The Perth Bears have made Canberra Raiders forward Corey Horsburgh their priority after they didn't land the signature of Eels forward Junior Paulo.
According to The Daily Telegraph, the Bears will attempt to sign Horsburgh to lure him away from the Raiders.
The reason negotiations have failed is that Junior Paulo is seeking a two-year deal worth $900,000 a season.
The 18th NRL club has "scoffed" at the asking price, and Paulo and his management did not like Perth's counteroffer.

But his Canberra Raiders teammates still think he's got a future at the NRL club.
Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has left Horsburgh out of the team to face Cronulla at Shark Park on Saturday, 48 hours after he blasted the fiery redhead for costing the Green Machine the game against Newcastle - and also ending Canberra's finals hopes.
Horsburgh might've played his last game in lime green, despite having a contract until the end of the 2027 season.

Perth Bears are pursuing Corey Horsburgh after failing to secure Junior Paulo from Parramatta due to contract disagreements.

Perth Bears have shifted their attention to out-of-favour Canberra prop Corey Horsburgh after they were unable to reach a deal with Parramatta veteran Junior Paulo.
It is understood the Bears will now focus on a deal with Horsburgh after prolonged talks to secure Paulo on a two-year deal were unable to see the parties agreed to a deal.
The Bears had scoffed at the $900,000 asking price for Paulo and their counteroffer was not enough to secure a deal. Talks had been ongoing for weeks, but it now seems unlikely Paulo will join the Bears next season.
Instead, Paulo is likely to stay at Parramatta where he still has a one-year offer on the table - the Eels are yet to rule out a second season but won't commit to a deal for 2028 just yet.
The Eels would also want Paulo, who turns 33 in November, to remain at the club once he retires.
