We love the mighty Canberra Raiders
Few clubs experienced more of a rollercoaster ride over the 2023 season than Ricky Stuart's Canberra Raiders.
Canberra lost four of its first five games and appeared certain to miss the finals before stringing together a host of wins that saw it in top-four contention.
In the end, they just fell into the top eight, and bowed out in the opening finals round - but not before giving hot favourites Newcastle an almighty scare.
The NZ Warriors' NRL semifinal against Newcastle will be broadcasted on Sky Sport and Sky Sport Now platforms.
Additionally, the Warriors' first home final since 2008 will be shown on Sky's new free to air channel, Sky Open.
This is only the fourth home play-off in the club's history, with previous matches including a 36-20 win over Canberra in 2002, a heartbreaking 10-12 loss to Parramatta in 2007, and a thrilling 30-13 victory against the Sydney Roosters in 2008.
Lion Breweries, the team's commercial partner, has organized nearly 100 watch parties at various hotels and bars across the country.
Jack Wighton's decision to retire from representative football has raised eyebrows, especially considering his recent suspension for allegedly biting Tyson Gamble's forearm.
The Canberra Raiders player has been slapped with a three-game ban, which will now impact his future club, the Rabbitohs.
Wighton's last game for the Raiders before his move to South Sydney next season was on Sunday, where he received the suspension.
This comes as another blow for Souths, who have already experienced a disappointing season.
