Flynn couple attends 2025 NRL match in Las Vegas, Raiders win game, unique experience for fans.

When the NRL held matches in Las Vegas in 2024, Flynn couple Amanda and Michael McDonald knew they would go if their beloved Canberra Raiders ever took part.
In 2025, they were among the 45,209 people at Allegiant Stadium on 2 March where the Raiders beat the New Zealand Warriors 30-8.
Amanda said it felt like Grand Final week, but it was in fact the opening round of the 2025 NRL season.

Ricky Stuart, head coach of the Canberra Raiders, expressed frustration following the NRL rules summit, calling it a "waste of two days." Despite being part of a committee aimed at addressing players milking penalties, Stuart admitted to still not comprehending the NRL's interpretations of obstruction rulings.
This sentiment was reinforced after a try by Seb Kris was disallowed in a match against Manly, with minimal contact between Canberra's Corey Horsburgh and Sea Eagles' Daly Cherry-Evans cited as the reason.
Stuart criticized the decision, stating that the NRL had veered away from its initial no-tolerance approach towards obstruction calls just three rounds into the season.
During the game, Cherry-Evans made physical contact with Horsburgh before racing after the play, leading to the try being called back.
