    Brisbane Broncos table new deal to off-contract forward

    The Brisbane Broncos have offered Kobe Hetherington a new contract amid his impressive performance this season.

    The Brisbane Broncos have reportedly tabled a new contract to off-contract forward Kobe Hetherington as they look to confirm their roster for next season in the upcoming months.

    While there were constant fears throughout 2024 that Hetherington would leave Red Hill for a new team, the lock forward has flourished on the field since Michael Maguire took over as head coach.

    Debuting in 2021, he has arguably found career-best form over the past 12 months, which has seen him start in all but three of his 16 appearances this season and represented the Prime Minister's XIII to face Papua New Guinea at the end of 2024.

    Panthers centre facing suspension as two others charged

    Izack Tago faces one-week suspension for Grade 2 dangerous contact against Kitione Kautoga in NRL.

    Penrith Panthers centre Izack Tago will face a week on the sidelines suspended after being charged by the NRL's match review committee with a Grade 2 dangerous contact offence.

    Tago was pinged for a first half incident where he was ruled to have made dangerous contact on Parramatta second-rower Kitione Kautoga.

    The on-field officials miss has since been picked up by the match review committee, with it being a first offence on Tago's record. He will face a one-week ban with an early guilty plea, or two if he heads to the judiciary and loses.
