‘Got to look elsewhere’: Papali’i’s big admission as recalled Origin star plans for the future

Josh Papali'i may consider signing with another NRL club for the 2026 season.

Raiders veteran Josh Papali'i hasn't ruled out signing with another NRL club for the 2026 season.

When asked whether he would play on in 2026, Papali'i said he was yet to make a decision.

While it's hard to imagine Papali'i, who now holds the record for most first grade games ever for Canberra, turning out in another team's jersey, the 33-year-old said it was a real possibility he could play somewhere else, given he's unwanted by the Raiders, and off-contract at the end of this season.

"If the team that you're playing for is not offering you another contract for the following year and you want to play on, you've obviously got to look elsewhere,"
    Papali'i told AAP
    .

"You never say never. I still feel like I've got a lot of footy in me, whether that's in the NRL or Super League."
